On 28 October, the Seaweed Hotel Room opens its doors aboard the SS Rotterdam: a prototype hotel room fully furnished with products that incorporate seaweed.
Zeefier is proud to contribute to this space with four industrial applications of our 100% locally sourced seaweed dye:
-
A wool runner, in our classic beige tone, produced by The Knitwit Stable, is now available via their webshop.
-
A duvet cover set in our warm, classic beige tone, developed in collaboration with Beddinghouse, available from 2026.
-
Silver-grey pillowcases, also by Beddinghouse, available from 2026.
-
Beige carpet, designed by Nienke Hoogvliet, is now available.
The Seaweed Hotel Room is an initiative by North Sea Farmers, the European Seaweed Association, made possible by Hotelschool The Hague, with concept direction by L’eautelier.
After its debut aboard the SS Rotterdam, the Seaweed Hotel Room will travel to other events, including ImpactFest in The Hague.
We extend our sincere thanks to The Knitwit Stable, Beddinghouse, and North Sea Farmers; this project would not have been possible without their partnership.
All featured products are dyed with Zeefier’s seaweed dye: a fully natural, industrially applicable dye made from local seaweed, chemical-free, biodegradable, and ready for a cleaner future.
The rug is available for purchase through our partner The Knitwit Stable at www.theknitwitstable.nl.
