Zeefier at GLUE Amsterdam: seaweed colour meets Dutch design

Our sand-coloured carpet is on show during GLUE Amsterdam as part of Bed Time Stories by ROOTS Embassy, hosted at Yumeko’s canal house on the Herengracht.

Designed by Zeefier co-founder Nienke Hoogvliet and created together with The Knitwit Stable, the carpet combines Dutch wool with Zeefier’s textile dye made from 100% seaweed. Its warm sand tone shows how seaweed-based colour can find its place in contemporary interiors.

And something beautiful found its way onto our carpet during the exhibition: a table by designer Stijn Weski.

The combination brought two Dutch designs together in one setting, surrounded by the work of designers and makers exploring biobased materials, biodiversity and new ways of making.

GLUE Amsterdam connects designers, studios, brands and makers throughout the city. Being part of the ROOTS x Yumeko Embassy allowed us to show our seaweed-based colours not simply as a material sample, but as part of a finished interior setting.

For us, that is exactly where material innovation becomes tangible: when you can see it, touch it, and imagine living with it.
