The Seaweed Hotel Room has landed in Amsterdam and this time, you can actually step through the door.
Until 16 October, the full room is on display at Vattenfall’s headquarters in Amsterdam, bringing together more than 15 innovations that show what seaweed can become: from furniture and materials to skincare, food and textiles.
For Zeefier, the room brings our seaweed-based colour technology to life. The carpet, runner, duvet cover and pillowcases are all coloured with ZEEFIER® dyes made from 100% seaweed and developed for industrial textile applications.
The wool carpet was designed by Nienke Hoogvliet, while the bedding was developed in collaboration with BeddingHouse.
First presented aboard the SS Rotterdam, the Seaweed Hotel Room is an initiative of the European Seaweed Association / North Sea Farmers, created together with a network of pioneering partners. It shows what becomes possible when seaweed moves beyond an ingredient and becomes a material for everyday life.
And in Amsterdam, you no longer have to imagine the room.
Just open the door and step inside.
